Working with me

Calm, collaborative sessions

Sessions are collaborative and client-led. I value being authentic and building a trusting relationship where you can speak openly, without pressure or judgement.

Online or in-person

I offer sessions in my welcoming garden counselling room, with outdoor space for walking and talking or simply being outside. Online sessions are also available, and we can explore what works best for you.

Who I Work With

A space for adults, adolescents, and children

I offer a calm, supportive space for adults, adolescents and children aged 10 and over.

Everyone has their own story, needs and pace. We can adapt our work to what feels right for you.

Working With Young People

I hold a CPCAB Level 5 Diploma in Children & Young People’s Counselling.

Counselling is your space. I’m here to listen to what you think, feel and need, not to be a teacher or parent.

We can explore things through talking, creativity, games or other ways of expressing what can be hard to put into words. We’ll work at your pace, and you can tell me what feels helpful.

I understand that mental health challenges can affect the whole family, and I have experience supporting young people and their families.

Supporting Parents and Families

Finding support for your child can bring worry or leave you wondering if you should have managed things yourself. Seeking support isn’t a sign of failure. Parenting can be difficult, and sometimes the right support makes a real difference.

I help young people explore their experiences, understand their feelings and develop coping strategies that work for them. I also consider the role of family relationships and the wider world.

I value working collaboratively with parents and carers, while keeping the young person’s voice at the heart of our work.

Safeguarding

Your young person’s wellbeing comes first. Safeguarding is central to my ethical practice. I keep my knowledge up to date through continuing professional development and can consult an experienced safeguarding professional when needed.

My Therapeutic Approach

Tailored therapy to suit you

My integrative approach means we work together to find what suits you, drawing on different therapeutic models.

We explore your experiences as a whole, helping you understand yourself, recognise patterns, build resilience and make meaningful changes at your own pace.

Sessions might include talking, creative approaches, walking and talking, or games, depending on what feels helpful.

About Me

Hi, I’m Lucy.

I’m a friendly, approachable counsellor with a genuine interest in people and society. My own experiences of mental health and supporting my family inspired me to train in counselling.

I value community, kindness and authenticity. I believe a trusting relationship can help build the confidence to change, and I aim to offer a space where you feel accepted as you are.

I’m neurodiversity-aware and an LGBTQ+ ally, with lived experience of eating disorders and neurodiversity.

I’ve worked with charities supporting people and families affected by additional needs and disabilities, drug and alcohol misuse, and with children and young people in schools. I also understand the challenges of navigating services such as CAMHS and NHS mental health support.

My Focus

I use an authentic, trusting therapeutic relationship to help you build self-awareness, understand your emotions and develop resilience, supporting meaningful change at your own pace.
